Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

Hello my little monsters! First and foremost, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!! I hope you celebrate it with joy and in good company. I am looking forward to my first new year's eve with my boyfriend and in Norway! It is going to be a bit of a colder ending of the year though! Just look at the picture that follows! The temperature outside is -28 degrees!!! So my hair froze out!!! I look like a certain lady who wanted to have a coat out of dalmatians... hehe. Luckily today we "only" have -15 degrees.... but this is a particularly cold weather even for Norway! Anyway, like the Norwegians say: "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes!". And I will survive this!

Happy New Year, happy celebration, don't drink too much and please don't drive if you have had alcohol!!! Be happy but first be SAFE!!! See you in 2010!

It's the small details that count

So yesterday I arrive to Jonny's parents late at night after almost 2 hours delay of my flight and after having waited for ONE HOUR to pick up my suitcase! I was exhausted, and what do I see? I got an extra present from my boyfriend who - not particularly liking Sex and the City - knows I LOVE that show and gets me "The Essential Collection" plus a Sex and the City t-shirt! Do I have the best boyfriend in the world or what? :-)

Christmas time

Comparing how Christmas is celebrated in different countries I have realized there are a lot of curious traditions! Yesterday morning there was a documentary on TV about the samis. Apparently the samis - in addition to raising and hunting reindeers - also used to collect mushrooms. Amongst the mushrooms they picked up there were hemanitas, which is an hallucinogenous mushroom. That's when the samis - finding themselves high - saw flying raindeers and a fat man giving them food as a gift. This could explain the origin of Santa Claus! Let's remember the samis live in Lapland (northern Scandinavia) but especially in Finland, were Santa Claus is said to come from! Curious right? Just as curious as the fact that Santa Claus was originally dressed in GREEN, not in red. So what happened?? Coca-Cola started to dress their Santa in red (the brand colour) in their advertisements, making it extremely popular! So popular that nowadays all Santas are dressed in red, not in green! Talk about the power of marketing!

Anyhow, I'm posting a pic of our little sad PLASTIC Christmas tree... Every year we decorate it the same way. Maybe next year I should get my mom some new ornaments?

There was time for openning the presents, too! (Please forgive me for the horrible quality of the last picture):

My sister isn't a big fan of being taken a picture, so she's not here. My dad got a pair of wool socks that he very much needed and a fancy wine opener. My mom got a Guess red wallet she loved, my sister was surprised with her new Nike t-shirt and jumper, and I got the straighteners that I really really wanted! And they work perfectly!!! (Remington Wet2Straight).

We also took the time to go eat "calçots", a variety of onion that is grilled and dipped into a sauce made of tomatoes, almonds, onion, oil and vinagre, amongst other. Delicious!

Merry Christmas!

Visca el Barça i visca Catalunya!!!

This is unique! From this day on F.C.Barcelona is THE ONLY TEAM IN HISTORY that wins 6 championships the same season. For this we have the Guinness World Record of being the only team to win EVERYTHING. And in addition, Lionel Messi has won the best player of the year trophee and Pedrito has yet another Guinness record for being the only player to have scored a goal in each of those competitions! We are officially the best team in history!!!!! I am so proud!!! And not only because of the football but because of the nationalism behind it! Catalonia 6 - Fucking Spain 0!!!!! :) YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! Oh, and not to mention Barça has used half part of what Real Madrid has used in football players. Seven out of the eleven are CATALAN players and so is our coach, Pep Guardiola. This is without a doubt the perfect season. Almost impossible it will ever happen again!!!!

Feeling the Christmas spirit

This year I am learning so much about Christmas traditions! I have made Christmas bread (sweet bread with raisins) that you can see in the two following pictures:

Both are the same thing just that I only had one bread mold... so I had to make smaller "breads". they were yummy! And I have finally finished the second Father Christmas! What do you think? Cute, huh? :-P

I got the Sony Ericsson Jalou!!

Today Jonny and I celebrate 11 months! And since I am travelling to Barcelona on monday we have decided that our anniversary is the perfect day to exchange Christmas presents as well. So Jonny got the black Wii (limited edition) from me, and I got the Sony Ericsson Jalou from him! I love this phone! As you see it is really small, the screen functions as a mirror and it was the latest technology (even video phone call... cool!). I am super happy!!!!!

Check the size in comparion to my old Motorola v3 RAZR:

Do you love it as much as I do?

Happy anniversary, babe!! I LOVE YOU!!
