Tonight I had dinner at a Mexican restaurant with Susanne. Was fun, delicious food and the waiters still remember me from the last time! Though service was a bit slow, it took about an hour to get our dessert and the restaurant was half empty!

I feel like crap

I am just writing this post to wine a little about my life. Because this is my blog and I wine about what the hell I want. I'm tired. I drank a bit yesterday - 2 shots of sambucca and 2 ciders. It is not much but it is enough so that I don't sleep very well. I went to bed late, woke up in the middle of the night because I was thirsty and when I went back to bed I was wide awake and couldn't sleep. When I finally seem to begin to all asleep my bloody cellphone starts to ring. My boss Stine. She wants to know if I can work. I had slept 3 hours so far and was still drunk. I say no. Go back to trying to sleep without success because the builders that are installing the new cable network in the street have already started to make noise! Looks like i manage to sleep a bit.... My cellphone rings. My other boss Adele. She asks me if I can work because nobody else wants to cover up. I tell her I was drunk. She says it's just some few hours. I let her know I am not in condition to work. She lets me know how little she cares. I say I will work. I want to kill her. I got to work with my head about to explode and I'm starving because yesterday we did not go to the foodstore. My boss Stine informs me that there has been a missunderstanding and actually they did not need my help but since I had showed up I might as well work a bit. I spend 4,5 hours at work wondering why the fuck luck is such a bitch to me today. I think I am going to spend the rest of the evening lazying on the couch. I had to go to a birthday party but I don't think I dare.... Good night!

This afternoon Jonny and I watched Avatar in 3D in the movie theatre. Good movie! A bit long but it's worth the money! Anyway you know it's gonna be long if James Cameron is the director... And then we playes Play Station at Jonny's bestfriend's appartment. Was nice day! Good to be social after so many days with nothing to do!

What time is it? It's smoothie time!

Yesterday we made a huge discovery. We had been living with a blender in our kitchen since we moved in back in August and we had no idea! And we thought maybe it was about time to stop ignoring that magnificent piece of machinery. So we bought youghurt, forest fruits (strawberries and cranberries) and a banana, add some sugar and a bit of milk.... voilà a smoothie! I learnt from Jonny that when you substitute the yoghurt for icecream you then have a milkshake. Equally good I guess.

I really did like them except for the fact the berries had those small seeds that are kind of crunchy and tend to get stuck in your teeth. Or else it was very nice! If you have a blender, you should try it at home! And if you don't, let Father Christmas know next December!

Scary shit

There has been a burglary at my work place. Luckily for me I was not at work (well... it really isn't that good at the end of the month when I see my paycheck but...). The burglars were not armed and did not harm or threaten anyone. But they managed to distract the receptionist and run away with the cash. There's even an article in the local newspaper (in Norwegian).

Time to laugh!

Here's some jokes I read today. Pretty funny stuff!

One night I was having dinner with a female friend. I ordered fish and offered her some. She refused by saying: 'I don't eat fish because I am Pisces'. I answered: 'Wow, because I do not eat scorpions!'. She was like 'Oh, because you are a Scorpio?'. I said: 'No, because they are poisonous'.

These are some pictures from the summer of 2005, right before I left for Harstad. I worked as a guide in the Barcelona Tourist Bus and these pics were taken by an Italian tourist who kind of embarassed his wife and kids when he asked me to snap some pictures of me because I look very "typical Spanish". No seriously, I remember his eldest kid said "Nooooo... pappa!" hehe. I am not sure of what "typical Spanish" looks like though, because everytime someone tries to guess where I am from they all go for the Middle East.
He said he was going to take "a few" pictures but actually he almost made a whole photoalbum! Before he got off he asked me for my e-mail so he could send me the pictures. And he did!

This was the best job I've had so far! I really had a great time chatting with lots of people and also with my co-workers!

Attention brides!

It's saturday night and I'm bored so I did what a lot of women secretly do when nobody is looking: check the internet for wedding dresses! (I did also check engagement rings at Tiffany's). Not for any particular reason though, it's just something girls like to do! The same as when boys check out cars they are never going to buy! (You can breathe now, Jonny!) Hehe.

That is me when I had bangs back in 2006 when I was living in Harstad! I had bangs during the second semestre! (My hair was longer but I have it in a pony tail).

Hahaha, this one is from my last year at the university and this was our last party altogether! Needless to say, I was LOADED here! (And Vero gave me a scare when she tried to snap a picture of me!)

Bras don't cure cancer!

I know I haven't made the biggest of statements with this post title, but I am just trying to prove a point here. Recently, a new Facebook trend has started which consists of posting in your status what color is your bra today. This - according to the "ingenious" creators - is meant to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Oh yeah, because knowing my neighbour is wearing a pink leopard bra sure makes me think a lot about breast cancer. It is smashing logical.
Well, it is STUPID!!! Even though you create awareness (which seriously we do not need because we all know someone that has had cancer at some point), do you think this means shit? Oh, you wrote on Facebook you're wearing a white bra with butterflies and suddenly the world is a more cancer-free place, right? You must all feel so good about yourselves! How solidary! You are a bunch of idiots!!!! And what you think is a "great purpose" is just a godamn stupidity so ridiculosly stupid that it puts you at the same intelectual level as a teletubbie!
You want to help cure cancer? Make a donation to a cancer research institution! Or remind your friends to get a mamography once a year!

Is it only me or do you also feel annoyed by internet groups in the likes of "Make a hundred clicks and a handicap will receive a wheelchair"??? Like that is even true?!?! Let's be a bit smarter, yes?

Carnivàle

Since the hotel is pretty empty (it's the annually January crisis), I am not working at all this month (I'm poor hehe) and this means I have LOADS of free time that Jonny and I employ to watch "Carnivàle" (2003). It's about the life of a "freakshow" that travels through different cities in the USA during the 20s putting on shows and trying to survive by all means. Their story will later be related to a methodist preast named Justin and his sister Iris. It has dirty talk, sex scenes, and lots of mud and filth (yes, people couldn't shower that often back then). It also has some pin-up stripper dancing, tarot reading and satanic rituals. It's a bit weird of a series but it's good enough to watch when you're bored hehe! It went off the air after 2 seasons, so it won't steal too much time out of you busy ones - even though every chapter lasts from 45-55 minutes!

And since I started to talk about the hotel, seems like my first boss is coming back as the new boss! I'm cool with it... he likes me! :-)
