Hi again! I couldn't forget to post pictures of today's trip to Tarragona. It's a city about 1,5 hours south from Barcelona. This city - as well as Barcelona - also used to be an old Roman settlement and the amfi-theatre and the Roman ruins are to be visited. And that´s just what we did!
This is the cemetery where the deceased gladiators were buried
After the visit to the amfi-theatre we headed into the city centre of Tarragona. This is a street market. People sell all kinds of old stuff.
This picture below is a facade of the coolest building in town. Everything is painted!
Around noon we headed to another town called Valls, which is the place where they make the best calçots in the whole Catalonia. Calçots are a type of sweet green onion which is grilled and served with a delicious sauce made amogst others by tomatoes, almonds, garlic, oil and vinegar. They are typical from the region of Catalonia and today we let Jonny try them out. He loved it! The tradition is that calçots are served as a starter and the main course consists of grilled lamb ribs with sausage and beans. For dessert we eat Catalan cream (bottom picture). Everything was delicious!
Keep you updated! Bye!
